Stockmen's Irish Baseball

McGuire and Miller to be inducted to Class A HOF

Sunday 8/20/17 at 1pm at Red Haddox Field

Join us at the Croatian Hall after the ceremony for drinks and laughs. Longtime Stockmen's Irish Owner Bill McGuire and All-time Irish great Dan Miller are both being inducted into the Class A Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place before this year's State Championship game at approximently 1pm at Red Haddox Field in Bloomington. McGuire and Miller join Mike Rothstein, Nick Bjerken and Jim Page as fellow Irish to be inducted to the Class A HOF.

Bill McGuire started Stockmen's Irish back in 1996 setting the standard high from day 1. From 1996 to present day Stockmen's Irish has been viewed as a first class organization that not only wins but plays the game the right way. Bill sets the tone with his high expectations. Bill's contribution to amateur baseball and the lives of college aged baseball players cannot be measured. Thank you Bill for all of your hard work and sacrifice that goes into creating and keeping Stockmen's Irish a pillar of townball in MN.

Dan Miller played 10 seasons with Stockmen's Irish going all the way back to when he was 17 years old. Miller was the epitome of what an amateur baseball player should be; commitment, heart and toughness to go along with amazing production. For at least 6 of those 10 seasons Miller was not only the best player on his Stockmen's teams but arguably the best overall player in the Skyline League. Miller was not the prototypical catcher as he usually lead his teams and the league in stolen bases as well as many other offensive categories. In his later seasons he moved out to centerfield where he also excelled defensively. Anyone that played with Dan Miller knows him as a great teammate that would do whatever it took to help his team win, whether it was playing with broken fingers, sore groins, sprained ankles or buying his teammates beers at the Cro after the game. It never mattered how sore or hurt he was, he would be out on the diamond playing and playing damn well. I can't imagine a player more deserving of being honored in the Minnesota Class A Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.

Congratulations Bill and Dan
